Benefits of Turmeric in Reducing Inflammation:
  1. Anti-inflammatory properties: Curcumin, the active ingredient in turmeric, has been shown to have strong anti-inflammatory effects. It inhibits the activity of molecules known to play a role in inflammation.
  2. Joint health: Turmeric may help alleviate symptoms of inflammatory joint conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis. Studies suggest that it can reduce joint pain and improve function.
  3. Digestive health: Turmeric may help soothe the digestive tract and reduce inflammation in conditions like inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and ulcerative colitis.
  4. Heart health: Chronic inflammation is linked to an increased risk of heart disease. Turmeric may help reduce inflammation in the arteries and improve endothelial function, potentially lowering the risk of heart disease.
  5. Brain health: Some research suggests that turmeric may have neuroprotective properties and could help reduce inflammation in the brain. This may be beneficial for conditions like Alzheimer's disease and depression, which are associated with inflammation.
  6. Cancer prevention: While more research is needed, some studies suggest that turmeric may have anti-cancer properties due to its ability to reduce inflammation and inhibit the growth of cancer cells.
  7. Skin health: Turmeric may help alleviate inflammation associated with skin conditions such as acne, eczema, and psoriasis. It can be used topically or consumed orally to potentially improve skin health.

History: Turmeric is a staple of Indian cuisine and medicine. It is also known as Curcumin. This herb has been around for at least four thousand years in the folk medicinal literature of India, where it was called haridra in the ancient Sanskrit. Turmeric has been a prominent item in the earliest system of Indian medicine, dating back to about 3000 B.C. Many clinical trials are underway now using Turmeric to destroy cancer cells. The botanical genus, Curcuma, is derived from the Arabic, kurkum, which means “saffron”, referring to the herb’s deep yellow hue.
Good Herbs Turmeric is made from the highest quality, certified organic Tumeri (Curcuma longa) available, delivering superior antioxidant support. This herbal supplement helps promote optimal health and combat oxidative stress in the body. It’s easily absorbable and contains organic Turmeric, which typically has more phytonutrients than nonorganic botanicals, making them more beneficial to your health.
